For example, the State of Virginia enacted a law that will allow student drug testing as a legitimate school drug prevention program (48, 49).

Hi Mark! Yes, this is legal. There is no law that the company must provide STD benefits to anyone. If the company does choose to provide them, they set the rules governing them. It is completely legal for an employer to treat low-performing workers differently than high-performing workers.
There is also no protection under ADA for this situation. As you probably know, an employee with a disability may be entitled to a reasonable accommodation under ADA. However, the employee is always held to the same performance standard as other workers. So the company must legally hold you to the same standard as they would if you did not have a disability.
